Questions before you trust a tool with a campaign.

Are you affiliated with Kickstarter?

No. KickFocus is an independent tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Kickstarter, PBC in any way.

Where does the data come from?

Project reports use the public project page plus public campaign numbers. Comment analysis is different: it can only be read from inside your own logged-in Kickstarter session, so that part runs in the browser extension and never leaves your machine.

Why can’t I see the comments on the website?

Because comments are not public in a way a server can read reliably. The extension asks Kickstarter the same way your browser does, using your session. That is also why it can show questions that were never answered.

How is this different from Kicktraq or BackerTracker?

They track campaigns after launch, mostly with a funding curve. KickFocus reads the page and the comment thread before and during a campaign, and turns the product page into a set of fixes. The curve is one part, not the product.

Do I need to install anything?

No. Project reports run in the browser. Comment analysis needs the browser extension, because Kickstarter only serves comments to a signed-in browser; the extension uses your own session.

Can I trust the numbers?

The numbers come from the campaign itself and from daily snapshots we take. The report labels estimates as estimates, and comment counts are checked against real comment IDs. If we cannot verify a number, we do not show it as fact.

What happens to a free report after seven days?

It is deleted, and the link stops working. Pro keeps reports permanently. We would rather say this plainly than quietly keep them.

Do you store the raw comments?

No. We keep the analysis output — themes, counts, unanswered questions — and drop the comment text. Nothing to leak, nothing to sell.

What if a project isn’t in your database?

We still read the live page and produce a report. What you may lose is the historical funding curve, which only exists for projects we have been tracking.

Is this a score or a prediction?

Neither. A number lets you stop thinking, and nobody can tell you what will fund. The report says what is on the page, what is missing from it, and leaves the judgement to you.

Test the numbers before you commit.

Two free tools, no account. Use them before you spend a month on a launch.
